Kan
Yuk sa Chapter, National Society Daughters of the
American Revolution,
is located in Jacksonville, FL.
We were organized on October 17,
1950, (and 11 of organizing members were present)
The name is the Seminole Indian
name for Florida. "Kan" means "land or ground" and
"Yuk sa" means "point of".
We are the only night
chapter in Jacksonville resulting in many of our members being working
women.
We meet the first Thursday of every month October through May.
Exceptions are September, December, March and May when we meet on the
first Saturday.
Our meetings are held in different (members') homes and
begin at 6:30 p.m.
